Journey & destination: the therapeutic process will be both of these.  I believe strongly that our primary task is to continue your journey of self exploration; to sense, to see, and to feel the wealth of potential, strength, compassion, understanding, and openness that lies within.  It is your ability to connect these that will serve as your greatest asset in obtaining whatever goals you have coming into therapy.

Partners in Process:

Recovery is not a solitary journey; it is about connection with self and others.  As we enter into the process of therapy you will have the opportunity to experience inner connection and awareness leading to Self expansion and outer growth.

ABOUT

For over twenty five years I have had the blessing of getting to do what I love.  Over this period I have had the opportunity to engage with many different and wonderful people.  Working in numerous settings: inpatient psychiatric units, Residential Rehab, Crisis & Treatment Referral  Hotline, Acute Care Partial Hospitalization (PHP), Intensive Outpatient (IOP), and over 10 years in Private practice has provided me with an opportunity to work with myriad unique individuals with a vast array of strengths, concerns and struggles.

This experience has allowed me to cultivate a comfort with and confidence in treating numerous client concerns; be it emotional, interpersonal, psychiatric, addictions, early recovery enhancement, trauma recovery, adjustment, sexual identity, eating disorders, mood disorders, self-esteem, anger management, Spiritual concerns, creativity enhancement,  or many of the other struggles that we face as part of our human process.

Having had the opportunity to work in these various settings has additionally allowed me to become well versed in crisis intervention, individual therapy, group therapy, family/couples therapy and an extensive familiarity with issues and concerns that can arise around psychopharmacology.

Additionally I have had the opportunity to work with numerous individuals who have struggled with some of the very specific issues, needs and concerns that come along with working in the services of the Military, Police Force and Fire Department.

After years of working with individuals in a variety of settings I have come to truly understand the value of individual differences in the way the therapeutic journey needs to unfold. Based on your needs and goals our work will vary in focus, duration, and style.  However it is always my hope that no matter what it is that brings you into therapy, you will leave this process with a profoundly deeper, expanded, richer and more cohesive relationship with yourself.

One very pleasant surprise over the last ten years has been the enjoyment and rewards of working as a supervisor. Initially supervision is a necessity, but well beyond "getting our hours" it remains an invaluable resource for professional and personal growth.  Supervision groups provide both a cost effective and experientially rich opportunity to address your needs coming into the supervision process.  I am certified as a clinical supervisor; providing both individual and group supervision.

The pervasive impact that addiction has on both the individual and family is one that affects each individual profoundly; not only in the powerlessness it engenders, but also in its extensive infiltration into the body, mind and spirit.  I have found the process of recovery is most fully realized in those individuals who approach their recovery as a body, mind and spirit undertaking.  Many clients enter into treatment aware that their relationship with a substance, gambling, eating, sexual activity, spending... has long since become unmanageable.  However, crossing the bridge from active addiction to early recovery is a journey that often seems impossible, but has been and will continue to be undertaken successfully by many.  Therapy is an important PART of that voyage, but alone not sufficient.  I will be there as that therapeutic counterpart, but will be expecting our work is but part of a larger recovery based lifestyle.

As difficult as the early stages of recovery are for most individuals, some find the unfolding process of self-discovery; new or long ignored feelings, thoughts and memories can prove to be as disorienting as they are liberating.  Many individuals find that therapeutic support during the later stages of their recovery growth to be a powerful aid in their sobriety.

FEES:

Individual, Couples and Family:   225 per one hour appointment.  All sessions are a total of one hour: consisting of 50 minutes of direct interaction, this allows for five minutes of preparation prior and 5 minutes of reflection and note taking following the session for a total of 60 minutes.  I have a set fee for all hour long sessions.

Group:  Duration of group sessions are either 60 or 90 minutes and fees vary for the group depending on time and size of group.  Fees will be discussed and agreed upon prior to your entering into a group.

Supervision:  There is a set fee for all supervision sessions, but given that this service is not covered by insurance I am always happy to discuss sliding scale fee options.

I am an out of network provider.  This means that I will not be in your network provider list.  However many insurance plans offer out-of-network benefits coverage.  If you have not already, you can call your insurance company and inquire about whether or not you have this benefit option.   Please bear in mind that even if your insurance will reimburse for out of network providers there is great variation from plan to plan regarding deductibles and percentage covered following deductibles so please call your call your the behavioral health number of your insurance and inquire about your out of network benefits.

There are many factors that may prohibit one's ability to pay full fee, if you have such concerns do not hesitate to discuss with me, I will be happy to explore this with you and help us come to a resolution that aids us in being able to allow therapy to begin or to continue.
